-- The Korean Tiger (Panthertigris sp.) was a population of Siberian tiger, or Amur tiger, native to the Korean Peninsula. The Korean tiger was the largest tiger subspecies in the world. Already uncommon by the beginning of the 20th Century, the last Korean Tigers were hunted to extinction by the 1940s, with the last individual specimen killed in 1944.
